Independent
Memento grows at the pace of the people who use it, and its plans never include cashing in on your data.
About · Hyderabad, India · Public beta
Memento is building a private place for what matters to you, and it’s run so it stays that way.
I · Our story
Most apps that hold your notes, passwords and links can read them. We started Memento to build one that can’t, and to run it with no reason to want to. Memento is independent and built in Hyderabad. We answer to the people who use it.
II · Why Memento exists
Memento didn’t start as a business plan. It started with three problems we kept running into every day.
Reason one · Too many note apps
Most people juggle three or four note apps at once. Each has a feature the others miss, so notes end up scattered across all of them. Memento set out to be one notes app with every feature you actually use.
Reason two · Too many kinds of apps
Next to the notes sit a password manager for logins and a separate app for saved links. Three apps, three accounts, three places to search. So Memento brings notes, passwords and links together in one app, under one account.
Reason three · Not safe anywhere else
Notes, passwords and saved links are some of the most personal things on a phone, and most apps that store them can read them. That’s why Memento encrypts their contents on your device before anything is uploaded. Our servers keep the encrypted copy, and the Security page lists exactly what they can and can’t read.
That’s still the whole plan: every note feature you need, the apps you juggle in one place, and, unless you choose otherwise, nobody else able to read what’s inside.
III · How Memento is run
Memento grows at the pace of the people who use it, and its plans never include cashing in on your data.
Your data belongs to you, not advertisers or data brokers. Our business is the product, not what you put in it.
We publish what our servers can and can’t read on our Security page, and we say plainly that we haven’t had a third-party audit yet.
Export your notes, links and prompts anytime. If you go, your data goes with you.
